About Dr. Miller:
Dr. Miller has over fifteen years' training and experience in providing therapy to an internationally and clinically diverse patient base. She has worked in multiple settings all over the United States. Dr. Miller has worked with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and groups, specializing in the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in veterans and adult survivors of childhood physical and sexual abuse.
Dr. Miller has successfully treated many clinical issues including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship difficulties, PTSD, issues related to aging and life transitions, anger management, grief, compulsive behaviors, and problems in life related to past trauma.
Dr. Miller utilizes an integrative approach to therapy with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral and Family Systems therapies. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on identifying and changing thinking and behavior patterns that have kept clients stuck in unproductive and unhappy life patterns. Family Systems therapy focuses on how emotional and relationship patterns we developed in our families of origin contribute to both strengths and difficulties in current life. Dr. Miller also has advanced training in Cognitive Processing Therapy which is often helpful for individuals coping with the effects of traumatic events.
